PURPOSE: This design while almost a decade old can still be manufactured. It is a useful tool providing unique functionality at ER. USB FPGA is a generic compute platform. The device can be configured as either several 8 bit soft processors, Picoblazes, or a single 32 bit processor, Microblaze. Added resources include non-volatile memory, user i/o such as LED’s, push button switches, and more than 40 gpio. USB 2.0 serial interface engine from FTDI, provides several ways to configure/program the platform as well as communication to a PC.
